GRAVE TOPS A TOUGH FIELD AT LAKE OF THE OZARKS SOLO PRO SERIES
1st Place: Jay Grave
2nd Place: Mark Tucker
3rd Place: Dominic Ortiz
Lew's Big Bass Award went to Nalon Jones - 7.53 lbs.
air temp: 39-77 degrees
SW winds 15-25 mph
partly cloudy skies
water temp: 46-54 degrees
lake level: 656.47
We had 99 anglers show up for the second qualifying event of the season. Jay Grave took the top spot at his first solo pro event. After a dismal practice, he was able to figure out a pattern. Most of his fish were caught in the Glaive arm on a 5/16th shaky head, using a Quick Ghost bait (in ghost color). He concentrated on main lake points; keeping the boat in 30 to 35 ft. of water, and catching the fish in the 20 to 25 ft. range. Jay's sponsors can be found at www.gravefishing.com.

No introduction is needed for our second place angler, Elite Touring pro Mark Tucker. Mark concentrated his efforts in the mid-lake area while using his signature 3/8th oz brown jig with a Zoom Super Chunk trailer. His seven keepers came from the backs of creeks in 7 to 8 ft. of water. Mark is sponsored by Mercury.

The Big Bass title went to Nalon Jones for his 7.53 pig. It was caught on a Dave's Custom 110. All of his fish came from secondary points with his boat in 15 to 20 ft. of water, and the fish caught in 5 to 8 ft. of water. Nalon's sponsors include: Skeeter Boats, Yamaha, Power Poles, Marine Repair Center, and Dave's Custom Baits.

A huge thank you to all the anglers that support us. Because of you, we are becoming one of the largest circuits in the Midwest. We would also like to remind everyone to support your local high school fishing teams if you can; they are the future of this sport. Hope to see you all at Stockton on May 3rd. Good Luck!
